U.S Ambassador for Indonesia Joseph R. Donovan Jr. visited Papua on 5-7 March 2017. Together with USAID Mission Director Erin McKee, they toured various projects and supported programs that reinforce private sector initiatives to increase sustainable production within the agricultural sector.
In addition, Ambassador Donovan also met with religious leaders from different faiths and religions. During this occasion, Ambassador Donovan enjoyed discussions on efforts in maintaining inter-religious tolerance and respect. The Ambassador also had a chance to meet with Papua Governer Lukas Enembe and discussed about US-Indonesia partnership, especially within Papua.
In Sorong, Ambassador Donovan visited Muhammadiyah University where he delivered a public lecture and discussed on education with the academic staff members.
