Search for the USS Houston

The USS Houston was a U.S. Navy ship that sank during the Battle of Sunda Strait in 1942. Its exact location was unknown until 2014, when the U.S. Navy confirmed its identity while surveying a popular dive site in the Java Sea. The U.S. and Indonesian governments, along with Australia and the United Kingdom, are determined to preserve the USS Houston and other wrecks in the area that serve as war graves.
