Dangdut Cowboys Rock Indonesia

As part of its Indonesia tour to celebrate the nation’s 70th relations with the U.S., the band played in front of members of Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Associations and local government officials at the Islamic Center Kraksaan building, Probolinggo district, East Java, on 11 March 2019.

Dangdut Cowboys is a Pittsburgh-based band founded in 2007 by Fulbrighter and the University of Pittsburgh Ethnomusicology Professor Andrew Weintraub. The group has been performing top dangdut songs at concerts across Indonesia as a way to promote the country’s signature music while expressing America’s spirit of cultural diversity.
